Triple Chocolate Valentine's Day Cupcakes

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup hot water
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 350F 175C and line a cupcake pan with paper liners

In a mixing bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt

In another bowl, beat the granulated sugar, brown sugar, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined

Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined

Stir in the buttermilk until the batter is smooth

Gradually pour in the hot water and mix until the batter is well combined and smooth

Fold in the semi-sweet, white, and milk chocolate chips

Fill each cupcake liner about 2/3 full with the batter

Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a cupcake comes out clean

Remove the cupcakes from the oven and let them cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely

Once cooled, you can frost and decorate your cupcakes as desired for Valentine's Day
